Welcome To

Roots Speech Therapy

Welcome to Roots Speech Therapy, where I believe that nurturing the roots of speech and language skills today will strengthen the branches of future communication. Over the last 15 years I have had the privilege of working with a wide variety of children from infants to teens in a variety of settings. This journey has led me down my most current path of specializing in speech sound disorders. I am passionate about helping the kids I work with really understand the root of their speech and language goals and helping the kids and families I work with be active partners in the therapy process. I look forward to working with you and your child!

Testimonials

“Kallie is literally one of the best therapists that has ever paired with my 3-yr-old autistic son Winston.  She’s prompt, attentive, loving, and thoughtful.  Kallie amended the sessions to the special needs of my child, catering to them entirely.  I can’t recommend her enough as a speech therapist, as her skills also couple with Floortime.  I’ve seen almost 40 therapists, and she’s top.” – Claire K.

“I think teletherapy has actually worked really well. It keeps us connected and learning. It adds some complexity but removes some physical distractions too.”- MN (mom of 5-year-old)

“Kallie is an experienced and caring speech therapist. She always made my son’s sessions fun as well as therapeutic. He always looked forward to seeing her. She also had us (parents) participate in therapy so we could carry over what he had learned at home. I work in the medical field and I would highly recommend Kallie!” – Kristin Pfefferkorn

my

Philosophy

“The development of language is part of the development of the personality, for words are the natural means of expressing thoughts and establishing understanding between people.” -Maria Montessori

Language is important; it is what makes us uniquely human. This drives the passion behind what I do. Speech sounds are the building blocks of effective language and communication, and developing the ability to confidently and clearly communicate with others is paramount to a child’s development. I believe the most effective way to reach children is to consider each child’s individual nature, personalize the needs of therapy to that of the child and their family, and focus care on a whole-family model. My goal is to help children make the most out of their therapy process through empowering parents and teachers to fuel their progress with the proper guidance and support.
